Kale Chips

Kale chips. Healthy. Delicious.

You will need:
1 or 2 bunches of kale (any kind)
Olive oil
Kosher salt

Rinse kale and peel the leaves off of the stem. Lay them out on a dish cloth and dry them.

Each bunch of kale should get it's own cookie sheet. Spread it out and sprinkle with olive oil and salt.

Bake for 30 minutes or until crispy. Have some tea or something.

Eat some of the delicious food you just created.

Elephant Top

Hello! I have been sick all weekend, leaving me incapable of doing anything but sit down. However, I am able to sew (as it is just sitting down with a machine in front of you).

So, last night I started with this:

And this morning I ended up with this lovely shirt!

Tips On Making A Messy Bun

Hello! I've learned that a lot of people don't entirely know how to make a messy bun, but let me tell you something-it's incredibly simple. As the name implies, there is no need for perfection in this bun, you pretty much just grab a handful of hair and secure it. HOWEVER, there are some things that can help you keep it secured and get the "messy" aspect of it.
Even though there is no perfect messy bun, this one was one of my favorites.

1. Messy-ish hair is good to start with, but any kind will do. Grab a couple hair ties, bobby pins (if you have face framing pieces or bangs that you want to pin up), and a scrunchy.

2. If you have fine hair or just want a lot of volume, use the scrunchy to put up your hair in a ponytail. If not, use a regular hair tie.

3. Holding all of your hair around the base of the ponytail with one hand, wrap a hair tie around it in order to secure it.

4. Pull pieces out and tuck any parts you want around the hair tie. Enjoy!

Steps To Creating A Damn Cute Outfit

Hello lovelies. Today I will share with you Lizzie's steps for creating a damn cute outfit.

Step 1: Decide that you're going to look pretty damn sexy today.

Step 2: Add in a little black. A lotta black. Maybe some patterns.

Step 3: Add in a pop of color, if you like. Decide if you want to go cold weather...

 ...or warm weather.

Moral of the story: black is amazing.
And I'm gonna look adorable tomorrow.

Homemade Chai Tea Mix

Hello cutie patooties. This wonderful Saturday was spent singing, plotting, doing Tae Kwon Dao, and above all make chai tea mix. Wanna make some yourself? You bet you do, it's delicious.

You will need:
2 & 1/2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp ground cloves
3/4 tsp ground cardamom (optional, but delicious)
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 & 1/2 cups unsweetened instant tea
1 & 1/2 to 2 cups sugar
1 cup nonfat dry milk powder
1 cup powdered nondairy creamer
1 cup French vanilla-flavored powdered nondairy creamer

Mix the spices and the instant tea in a food processor or blender until finely ground. Pour into bowl. Add sugar to food processor (no need to clean in between). Pour into bowl.
Add dry milk powder and the creamers to bowl and mix.

Add 2 heaping tablespoons to a mug hot water or milk. Enjoy!

Simple as that. Original recipe here.

I went to the movies today and wore this wonderful outfit!

Did it go together? Sorta. Was it fabulous? Completely.
Bonus points: that bag is from Africa. Hence the pretty paintings of giraffes and warriors and stuff.

DIY Galaxy Pants

Even before galaxies became cool, galaxies were cool. But now, it's socially awesome to wear them as clothing. And, even better, it's super fun to make your own galaxy clothing! Let's get started...

You will need:
1 pair of black pants that you won't mind destroying (I used old Levi Skinny Jeans)
Bleach
Spray Bottle
Water
Sponge
Toothbrush
Purple, Blue, and White fabric paint

Directions:

Mix together two parts bleach and one part water in the spray bottle.
Lightly mist jeans. The bleach will make a orange-ish hue.
Swirl certain areas and mist more to create a spiral effect.
Do this to both sides, and let them sit for a minute.
Rinse out bleach so that it doesn't continue cause holes.
Dry jeans until they're only damp.

Using gold paint, highlight areas in the spirals.

Using a sponge and the blue and purple paint, make clouds of color.
To create a soft look, dampen the sponge and blend the clouds.

Dip the tooth brush in the white paint and make stars.
All done!
