Before & After: Halloween Wedding Dress

Hi! Last Halloween, I went to the thrift store and saw a super cool wedding dress, which I planned on ripping up and covering in scary blood. Then I decided I would much rather be a nudist on strike, so I wore my morph suit. BUT, back on track, I had a wedding dress in my closet.

What?! Lizzie, where would you wear that? 

I know! Soooooo, after school, I turned it into this! 

Yay! Now THAT is the kind of dress I would wear to parties I don't get invited to! Don't mind the mess....OH YEAH! 

3 Fun Ways To Accessorize

Hi! Accessories are just about the best thing in the world. Using them, you can turn a boring outfit into a fabulous one. Also, you can turn one outfit into twenty.

1. Adding a belt to an over-sized shirt or dress is the perfect way to add a little of your own style and accentuate your waist.

2. Scarves can make a tank look snazzy in the summer and sweaters look extra cozy in the winter.

3. Nail polish isn't always considered an accessory, but to that I say...no. Play around with it and try different  styles to find what looks good with your skin tone and matches your outfits. Right now I'm sporting a mint polish with a golden sparkles top coat.

DIY Summer

Hey! As we all know, summer just can't be summer without a little DIY action up in it, so I've collected six projects just for you!

First, a pair of cut-offs. These ones, as you can see, have cool designs gone on them in Sharpie, which is pretty darn awesome. They don't need too much of a tutorial, and the one I have is in Spanish, but you can easily translate it, so here it is: cut-offs

And now we have this adorable little basket, that you can make out of paper bags. Sweet, right!? Here ya go: upcycled basket

Here's one from thebeautydepartment.com. The picture tutorial just shows you where to tape off your mason jars so you can spray paint them. You can put your hair goodies in there, use it as a cup, plant flowers, the possibilities are endless!

This is one of my favorites! In this tutorial, she says to paint dots with the paint, but with others they've just said to splatter it, so it's really up to you. 

I know this says workout shirt on it, but you could really wear it anywhere. Here's where it came from! 

Annnnnd last but not least, studded sneakers! Yay! Just the right amount of gangsta. Find 'em at Honestly WTF.

Hair Styles

I need to learn how to do more hairstyles. Right now I have about two: down and up. If I had longer hair I could do more braids and such with it, but I'll do what I can with what I've got now.

Orange

I've seeing orange pop up a lot lately, and I gotta say, it's pretty exciting. I've never worn an excessive amount of orange, but I'm willing to try it out more. Maybe not too bright of orange, but a pale-ish or faded sort would be pretty cool.

This orange dress is a good color for me I think, and I'd be willing to wear it:

Pajama Shorts

Hey, so you know the elastic waist shorts I was talking about a few posts earlier? Well, I tried it out and I love it! They're super easy and quick to make, and they look good, and they're perfect. I'm going to live in these shorts this summer. I'll make more soon, but tonight I made them as pajama shorts as a tester:

Not a very good picture, and there's some crooked lines, but whatevs. These are great! 

The Sewing Spot

I'm working on creating a sewing spot in my room. I cleaned out a corner and organized my fabric on one of the shelves in the corner, but then I was pulled by guilt towards my homework. Then I gave up on concentrating and am now going to go back to organizing the design haven. :) I'll post pictures when I'm done, but I'm pretty lazy AND a perfectionist (not a good combination), so it might be a while. Like, months. But I'll try to get it done!

Yay, Fabric and Friends!

My grandma left me tons of fabric and thread and supplies! Seriously, this is like a tenth of the amount of fabric I now have. And look at these cute little scissors she gave me! 

I made it look like I have a beak especially to entertain you guys. And cause it made me giggle. 

I haven't even explored all my stuff yet, but I'm super excited. I need to make a few pairs of these, because they're super cool:

Seedlings

All my seedlings are in the ground. I will soon have a garden brimming with good food and flowers. :) I want to find someplace I could have a garden like this though:

The Beginning
